Hey folks, i'd just like to say i am really glad that i signed up to this forum it has allready really helped me and saved me some money :D

My next problem is quite dire and is slowly killing my E30.

There we go a nice dramatic sentence to get your attention winkeye

Where the drain hoses for my sunroof meet the sunroof the metal has corroded away so that any water in there just goes straight into the headlining and then drips into the footwells (i'm worried about this rusting the floorpan) i think it is doing the same at the rear drain holes as the back seats are damp.

What can i do about this? Access is quite tight for any intricate work and at the moment i have stick some electrical tape over the holes, punched a hole through the tape a siliconed some tube through the hole to take the water down to the original tubeing. this works for the front but emphasises the rear as water cant escape as freely because the bodge is slightly raised so more water runs backwards.

Sorry to ramble but it should give you the idea, is there any simple way others have cured similar problems?

PS, i can post some photos but i dont know the sizes and whatnot, if anyone can tell me how big i can go it would be realy helpful!!

Thanks
Chris

Ok then how about, if i rip out the headlining, can i get access to the rear sunroof drain tubes? If not how do i get to them?

If you can drop the headlining around the rear side windows then you can get access to the rear drain tubes BUT if you need enough space to work on these properly, you will need to drop the headlining from the rear screen as well so that it can be taken back to the sunroof opening. A recent thread on sunroof removal (for a track day car) had some good pictures of this area on the roof if you want to get a better idea of how this area looks from under the roof lining.

Hope this helps!
