looking good mate, what gearbox is that? we used the original bmw hydraulic clutch on the t5 box and had to make a bracket up to mount the slave cylinder upside down.what set up are you using for the prop as ive just destroyed my second centre prop bearing in 3 months so i could do with some tips winkeye is the walbro 255 fuel pump sufficient to fuel stage 3?(greens,3-bar etc) ,thanks mate.thats 3 cossie converted e30's on the zone now,we'll soon be able to start a new owners club site :D

yo fuzzy :D

i'm using an MT75 gearbox, should be interesting.

the rear propshaft arrangement is from a 4x4 cossie using the uprated center bearing from that, mounted in the original position - i may have to use some spacer plates yet for the center bearing, but not sure untill i get round to fitting that part ;)

the walbro 255 pump is what is reccomended on escort cosworths for power upto 450bhp (8 greens or 4 blacks), so should be more than adequate for what I need winkeye

Who's gonna do the 4X4 Cossie E30? winkeye

Anyone done a Vauxhall red-top in an E30?
what gearbox is that?
MT75's the 2WD version of the Cossie 4X4 'box, as in Sierra and Granada etc, syncro on reverse. :D
destroyed my second centre prop bearing in 3 months
Is it balanced properly? (Flange to flange) Where's your sliding section? I've had mega prop problems using a 2 piece E36 M3/Cosworth prop combo.

Got a mate who specializes in putting red tops into all sorts of things. Don't think he's done an E30 though.

Just finished trial fitting the engine - oh its going to be messy

Need to bin the standard brake servo and fit aftermarket stuff - this is to keep the engine towards the rear of the bay, then fit the anti-roll bar to the front of the cross member (M3 rollbar and links so not a problem there).

the engine is going to be about 10mm off the bulkhead - keeping the center of gravity low and towards the middle of the car, keeping that weight balance nice too

Other problem is the exhaust downpipe - that will have to be thought about once the E36 rack is in place (should be here tomorrow that) and the engine permanantly fitted too. I may have to skim 1-2cm off the cross member where the sump sits, and plate that area to keep the strength, but apart from that, this project is rocking along niceley winkeye winkeye winkeye

i dont understand this mt75 being the 2wd version of the cossie 4x4 box,i thought that was the T5? is the walbro pump a direct replacement and should i use a lower spec one as im only planning on going to 4 greens(330-340bhp)?my crossmember wasnt altered at all,a new sump was fabricated in alloy to clear the crossmember and although theres only 5mm clearance the original brake servo was kept.what is your finished spec for your engine? 8)

Well done cannot wait to see the end result. When do you think that will be.Will you be taking it to any of the shows this year if it's finished.I'm going throught a similar thing with what I'm doing to my car.And it is difficult with having to work as well.I seem to be spending every minute in the garage. It must have taken you quite a while setting up your site, something I will look into when I get time.Great work

Afaik, all the 2WD Cossies used the Borg Warner T5 8) , the 4X4 cossies used the MT75, which was basically the standard MT75 2WD gearbox from the Sierra/Granada, with a belt drive transfer box from the tail shaft bolted on the side. (Carried over from the type 9 2WD box that the MT75 replaced.)

The earlier XR4X4 and 4X4 Granadas (2.8L) used the type 9, adapted similarly. When the 2.9L 4X4s were introduced the MT75 was used, at the same time it was used in the 2WDs with the 'new' twin cam/8 valve pintos.
