My car is drinking fuel!!!

if any one knows why my car is running so expensive please let me know what it could be, im only getting 180 miles to 35 quid, and thats driving conservativly, could this be connected to a bad idle proble which i also have, please please please someone help me as my wallet is not all that big

I know this might sound stupid, but have you checked to see there aren't any leaks from the fuel system, e.g. tank or lines?
Once this is ruled out, you should get the car checked to see if it overfueling, by getting the CO levels checked and adjusted. Signs of overfueling would show in the spark plugs, alot of black deposits would be present.
Once this is done, check your fueld consumption again, but you also need to take note of the type of driving you do. Town driving plays havoc with any cars mpg.

WELL I DO DO A LOT OF TOWN DRIVING, THERE WAS A LEAK FROM THE TANK TO THE ENGINE BUT THIS HAS ALL BEEN WELDED UP, IM REALLY WORRIED THAT THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG AND ITS GONNA COST ME, WOULD A TUNE UP TEST THE CO2 THINGY? THE CAR HAS BEEN STOOD SINCE 02, I HAVE DONE A FULL SERVICE ON IT THOUGH, PLUGS ETC

Any decent garage should have a CO testing machine that they will use to check the engines CO levels as part of a tune up.
