As the title really.

Ive got an M20 flywheel thats got a bit of surface rust all over - whats the best way of cleaning it up so it doesnt ruin the clutch? Flywheel is on the engine and I dont want to remove it.

Cheers

A bit of rust shouldn't hurt, this was a brand new E28 fly wheel when doing my swap but the engine got put out side a few times so it rusted but with no detrimental effect as far as i know.

Like Ed said you may as well wire brush it off if you can.

Cheers guys.

Mine doesnt look as bad as that Andy, its only the face that the clutch plate contacts that I want to clean up.

Time to sort through the mess in the garage - Im sure theres a wire wheel in there somewhere :?
