can be done if you buy a donor car, but then again easier to but a 325i to start

Add to that propshaft and diff.
Loom referred to above is just the engine loom, which doesn't even need to be disconnected from the engine.
Not a difficult job with half decent facilities. Minor problems are that the airfilter/AFM bracket is different, and the mounting points for the coolant resevoit are missing.

thanks for the info so far guys

i got a another question i got a 320i beemer its got a switchable sports gearbox

i used to have a e34 525i if i fit the throtthle body of the e34 525i engine to the 320i would that make the 320 into a 2.5i engine then?

or would i need to also fit the injectors from the e34 engine to the 320i to make it 2.5?

fitting a 325/525 throttle body onto a 320 is a way of making the engine breathe better, but you are better off putting the inlet manifold on too, but you need to grind away some of the metal at the inlet ports on the head to make them match up as the inlets on the 320 head will be smaller than the inlet tracts on the manifold. It still won't give you 325 performance and it certainly does not increase the capacity to 2.5 ltrs unless I have misread your post totally
