what expansion tank??

just wondering what expansion tank to use in my project car... as the e34 M5 one is a tad big and has a funny angle on it....does anyone know what the one in the pic below is from that is sitting on the battery tray??

hmmm if i heard u right ant..... u mean its best to get early m3 header tank and associated brackets under it??? and which pic were u talkin bout dude

The lower one is E30 M3, upper is later E30/E36

aiming for June/july dale.....

proper work gettin started end in 2 weeks time when i come back to london from bristol (uni).

ive got most bits apart from exhaust and manifold which will be custom prob from hayward and scot

got m3 running gear 5 stud plus h and r coilovers, 15in 5 stud bbs (will look stock! )

got lsd

got mounts

got electrical bits n bobs

need prop

need rad

need leccy fan

need trans cross member ?(m3 one should work hopefully straight on...)

need hydraulic brake booster-pacerpete is on the case

need e36 rack and all high press pipes made up custom for the PAS and brake system (this is the hardest bit of the conversion really)

thats it i think.... theres always something else u need with something like this

its a joint thing which im doing with my dad, hes done a couple of conversions before on fiat 131 mirafioris with 2.0l engines, also a mini and also a couple peugeot 504 pickups with 505 weber'd engines back in Kenya, also worked on much heavier machinery back in Kenya on my grandads quarry, thing like Cat's etc... dumpers etc.... He's great with a spanner, and always has an idea for a problem...

i will try and get all progress posted on the site in my sig... but my uncle who runs it is very busy....

u know spark plugs.... on the lead end of the plug... shouldnt there be a little metal hat thing that screws onto the threaded part.???? i know my iS was like this... however i bought some bosch plugs from ecp... and they dont have them and neither do the plugs that were actually on the car....

any idea... do m20s not have this bit?

I think that some early HT leads were made for the inner connector of the plug. I know that the plugs on the IS i got from BMW you cannot screw off this cap anymore. I really dont think it will make any difference as long as you have the correct HT leads for the PLUG.

just went and got early ngk's....

these had the caps on but u can screw them off, they do not fit with the caps on, they are too fat for the leads
