it was a tight squeeze but it went in with a little help from a
crow bar.
not yet bolted at all, just resting on a trolley jack.

no mods to the body are needed karan but thats not to say i wont do something once the running gear is done, may put an m3 kit on it, i know some people think its a bit taboo, but i think they look awesome.
will have to make new exaust manifolds, but thats just the joys of motoring!!
the wiring will be a few problems as it has the EWS security but even on the floor we got it to turn over 8) 8)

Go on boyo, take your grandad for a run, its brown trousers time! Sweet looking install, all yourself? What was it before you started? Oh and I have to compliment you on the colour choice.

Regards Mark.

I've read the standard M5's exhaust is restrictive and expensive, so a custom one might liberate a few bhp?! Custom manifolds too i suppose?

Oh my God ... that's gonna be the Daddy. :P

V8s and V12s have definitely been done before but i've never heard of the M Power V8 being used.

Bet the engine wasn't a cheap purchase. Have you used the 6 speed manual as well?

thanks guys for the comments,
this project isn't going to be easy, but nothing ever is,is it.
i allready put it all in a mk5 escort but wasn't happy with it not being all bmw, so i chopped that up, and went and got an e30.
bought all the running gear from fab's (engine, gearbox, full e39 m5 loom,
clocks, brain, exhausts and the pedal box, because its got an electronic throttle,) then i got a complete e36 m3 evo back axle and e36 m3 front legs
simon 13, the exhaust are very restictive, each branch tube has another tube inside it( i think it is to warm the cats up quicker) i had to cut them about to put it in the escort
schmick 325, my brother in law is a dab hand with electrics, with the loom spread out over the floor, we've got all the dash board lights on and the throttle bodies working and it turns over so i think we can get around the ews system.
other than the wiring all the work i do myself.
the main thread is on "customizing and highly modded"
thanks again, glenn

nice one mate, who cares if it weighs a bit more, the way i see it is, the amount you lose on corners [if any, depends on a lot more than the car] is nothing compared to the amount you're gonna blow them away in a straight line! and at the end of the day both matters! 8)
