What tyres - Help

Trying to figure out what tyres to put on these.



They're 17's, 8j at the front and 9j at the rear. Thing is my dad doesnt want a real low profile look as they're going on a six and not an e30 (eg:c76jon's M3). Want a bigger tyre side wall and we're not very hot on tyres at the best of times.

Any ideas of a good size + make would be appreciated.

235 is the width. 45 is the height of the tyre wall as a percentage of the width. Took me a while to get my head round that too (I'm waiting for someone to tell me that's wrong now ).

the "45" is the hight of the tyre, often called the profile or aspect ratio of the tyre, it refers to the means the the "hight" or profile of the tyre is 45 % of the width

Cheers. can you put higher walled tyres on, like 65 on a 17" wheel on an e24 or is that just too much?

it will affect the gearing so not really recomended

they ride quite good with that size on, no worse than the 240/45 metrics that you have on at the moment, and the grip will be much better, the old michelin metrics are kinda crap and fucking leathal in the rain as they are 25 year old tyre technology. also at about £200 a corner very expensive
