it can be done but you would have to port out the head to match up with the inlet manifold, and yeah you would see a benifit but not sure how much : )

Someone I went to college with had a 320i and fitted a 325i inlet, exhaust and throttle body.
I dont know what he did by way of matching ports or anythings else but he said it made a fair difference.

Actually, thinking about the guy who did it, he probably just bolted it on and didnt bother about any port matching.
He seemed to think it was worth doing, and he did know quite a bit about BMWs.
I drove it once, but I hadnt driven a 320i before so couldnt compare. It did seem to go pretty well tho.
If you can get it for free, why not give it a try?

i might now, but im still a bit worried, and its a bit of work for something that might need to be swapped back, will also need a 2,5 tb, and a zone chip, but thats all down the line

I wouldn't do it without porting the head to match, as air entering through the inlet would hit the head and it would'nt flow smoothly, probably would still feel a bit better, but nowhere near as good as if the head was ported to match.
