Can you remove the 'hard' back bit of the seat without damaging it?

Also, if you had a good seat with good bolsters etc could you swap it over to a seat which has knackered bolsters etc?
Got cable ties? Get diffin..

To take the back off just undo the two screws right at the bottom either side, you'll have to tilt the seat forward to get to them easily. Remove the handles on the side plus the plastic bits that don't move, if its the passenger seat you'll have to remove the metal armt eh sticks out, it held in with one screw but you'll hvave to lift up the handle on the other side to get to it. Then the back will slide over the other metal arm and off the hooks at the top.

Now to seperate the seat base from the back just undo the two bronze coloured srews near the bottom of the seat back, you can't miss them when the hard back is off. The seat back will then just lift off the seat base. Then its a case of just removing the material which is held on by lots of metal teeth that have to be sraightened.

All this is dead easy but very time consuming when your swapping bolsters.

If you want to change the bottom bolster you'll have to do all of the above plus remove the runners and struts. I'll try and find you the guide that i used ages ago.

Hope that makes some sense to you :D

To separate the seat backs from the bases on 2 oor seats, you also have to disconnect the cables.
Remove the plastic covers that hide the hinge mechanism at each side of the seat, bend the little locking tabs in the end of the cables out the way, and unhook them.
Note that 4 door base assemblies are the same as 2 door. The only reason you can't tilt 4 door seats is that the cables aren't fitted.
