The service lights on the clocks were staying on, and wouldn't reset, so figured the batteries on the SI board were dead. I picked up the SI board from eBay, and fitted it last night. The old batteries were fairly wrecked - had started to corrode the board as well.
Fitted everything back up and stuck it in the car. First thing I noticed was I had green lights again - but they faded out within 30 seconds. As soon as I started the car up, the Rev counter and Temp guage were dead. They don't even illuminate now at all. Took everything apart again and can't see any visible problem.
Anyone have a clue what the problem could be?

there's a little switch on the SI board which has to be turned on before insertion if its a new board, did you do that?
