Fellow zoners I pose a simple question...
Is it ok to have the Motorsport badge on the grill purely for asthetics or is that a BIG NO no in the zone??

I knew that was coming!! - Hey in all honesty! when i first got my e30 it was by chance as my car was written off... I bought it off a neighbour - As i looked around i saw the M badge on other cars and it looked cool - it didnt mean shit to me then - I was introduced to the zone a couple of months ago and havent looked back... All of a sudden i find myself aware of the badge bcoz i know what i stands for... so i guess i have one to sell.
Hows that for honesty!!... it came to mind coz i was thinking of going to aces for the first time and i thought about the feedback it wod get... not a good impression!

Wow that sheepskin is serious!! - Haven't got that brochure! good to see though. Good post mate. - I bought the old brochure to find out what switches go in the blanks on the dash, eg. air cond extra - Prefer looking at the retro buttons than blanks.
As far as the M badge goes... It'll stay for now! I luv my e30 - its not an M3 badge and there isnt 1 on the back!! You can't hate on me for that!!
Enjoy the bank hol peeps Im off to finish off some wiring!!! Might pop down to aces later!!!

Some peeps are purer than pure when it comes to bm's, but personal taste and touch is what it's all about, look at bootyman's ride! I've tried to use original parts and so on, on my car and if I want to put a badge on I will....

When i first got my sport it never had the M badges on so i went out and got some but now i am going through a phase prefering the debadged look.
Do what ever you want, if thats what you like, M3 badges on a non M3 look silly though

As said, i wouldn't put a M3 badge on my car unless it was an M3, but i have a Msport badge on the Rieger. I've also replaced the BMW badge with a badge with a single M cause the colour goes well with my car. Funny though cause i dont have a M badge on my Motor Sport
I guees the long and short of it is, if you like it, then do it, besides, my mission in life seems to be to do everything the Zone doesn't like so i guess i'mm different. The day the Zone likes what i do to my cars, i'll give up modding and take to modding Zebra's

Ive got an Alpina front spoiler here, which if i fit to the car may have some Alpina stripes to follow and who knows a badge.
I think if these things are done tastefully then it can look good, and if it looks cool whats up with that?
Then again ive got Alpina reps on but thats another can of worms lol

I hear you bruv - i do the same with parts all bm' - The reason i started this post in the first place was become aware of those who are purer than pure... which is cool...Some peeps are purer than pure when it comes to bm's, but personal taste and touch is what it's all about, look at bootyman's ride! I think what he means is , If you have a 316 standard with wheel trims and make it something its not and put M badges on then its a no no , If you have a lot of the M extras like kit interior etc like myself then why not ,
So im a wanker as well then
Im religious , Every night and twice on sundays , Off for a wank brb

I'm starting to get a little worried about certain members of the Zone now. There seem to be too much bashing the Gerkin going on here. Guy's just pay £5 and get it done for ya

Obviously if you put an M Tech steering wheel on the badge is unavoidable.Kos wrote:would this be external badging only ??Zayyan wrote:Do it! If you want to look like a wanker

But external M badging on a pretty much bog-standard 4-door 320i is a bit wrong, don't you agree?
And yeah the theory applies to all badges on something that doesn't deserve it.
To me it just makes it look like you can't afford the car you wanted (i.e. something deserving of an M badge).
As has been said though it's a matter of personal taste (or lack of it

Thats cold bruv! As far as engine goes yeah i guess she is pretty standard! - And its true at present i cant afford a decent M... however the badge was put on long before i knew what it meant, hense the reason for the post. I always loved the e30 and the Badge always caught my eye so when i had 1 the badge went on.......But external M badging on a pretty much bog-standard 4-door 320i is a bit wrong, don't you agree?

I put one on my 318i mtech, but took it off purely as i think they look smarter without. More balanced. If its not a real M car, then de badged is the way forward i recon

As has been said though it's a matter of personal taste (or lack of it) - if you like it then it doesn't really matter what others think.
in that case you are refering to any aplina m-tech AC badge then, were you going to keep the BK racing badges on you fake alpinas ?? (a popular choice on any e30, i had them many years ago)
if a dog of an e30 has a bagde fitted, well you can call him a nob if you want, but their personal choice.
now the issue on not affording the "real thing" is bollocks, my IS ia an example, i spent a long long time hunting down the correct parts to but on the car, and the car deserves it. if i wanted the real thing i'd go out and buy it, but i couldnt fing one, so i built one.
if some one builds a car and its tastefully done, wht the fuck not.
basically you've just called 90% of e30 drivers on this forum wankers
