Angel Eyes?

I drive a 325i Sport (Lachs Silver) & was wondering if anyone could help me with the angel eyes you can but for E30's. I have come across two types: with the chrome or with the black.

Not sure which one would suit the car better...black or chrome?

You mean the "smoked" ones? Apparently the light output is shite on these. I'd go for the chrome ones if I were you.

I have a silver 325i Sport. People are recommending the chrome...think it's the way forward!

Stock smileys or smoked hella smileys are best.

They dont make the smoked Angels anymore anyway. I've been after a set for weeks now, but it's the same story everyone i ring

Same here, everyones tellin me they stopped making the smoked angel eye lights, so i'm just gonna settle for hellas now!!

why not just get a set of clear chrome angel eyes and tint the lenses????

I expect the smoked angel eyes have stopped production due to the light output (or lack of it) that I've been hearing about.

As Jordan says, smoked Hellas (and a black grille) are the way forward in terms of front-end mods. I'll be fitting mine tomorrow

or have both!! make your own jobs easy, see tech article on DIY smoked lights, do that on stick angel eyes in!! mine are chav

blue, but get em in white!

Hello chaps, which one should i go for, the chrome or smoked? Earlier, someone said that the smoked suffer from a lack of output, does eveyone share this opinion & has anyone got some experience in these lights?

Chrome looks good but not sure as the smoked looks tasty!

i smoked my own lights and the light output was not affected in the slightest. i cannot vouch for the after market jobs, but i fail to see how they could so long as the original projector unit remains untouched.

perhaps people are on about the smiley lights compared to the non-smiley projector lights, i have heard the smiley lights give a little extra light down near the front bumper compared to the non-smiley projector lights (examples of non-smiley projectors are on my black cab), but this extra light will not be visible at driving speeds.

but looking at the Ebay link they have blackened out the high beam lens, so without seeing how they have done this i cannot comment on their light output.

Iv just fitted a set of crystal clear headlights from ebay and fitted xenon hid kit .I think it looks great but lights come with no fixings and i had to make my own.

The DEPO Angel eyes are a poor upgrade now why bother I tried them and then binned them. Poor quality poor spread of light.
They looked good 2 years ago when I brought them for about a week then all the Max Power crew with Corsa's and Golf's and Peugeot got invovled and it became a shocking upgrade..... E30 is a classic don't mess about with it.
