had this a couple of times. in my opinion no not all dashes are the same. all tin tops share a dash pre and post face lift. but the cab seems to have an extra brace under the front window, so to make a tin top dash fit a cab you need to cut out about 2inches by 2 inches under the bracket at the side of the dash on each side. you will not see this cut once the dash is in as it will be hidden by the lower A pillar.

now before someone comes on and says the part nos are the same etc etc etc trust me i have done it and it does not fit. i took FYI a dash out of a preface lift 4 door and fit it in my face lift cab after the mods i mentioned.

got a good how to remove site if you want it but its on my other computer, can give you the link sat if you want, on a yank site ERA something

hint..... cover your steering column in duct tape and remove the fabric on your a pillars or you will scratch themand remove front seats, job 100 times easier

Thanks mate. I want to put the Rieger interior into the Msport, but to save having to take both cars to the location where they will be swapped, i was wondering if i could just take the Rieger, get the interior and dash taken out of that, and a coupe dash one fitted along with a drivers seat so i can drive it home, then bring the Msport back, take interior out, fit the Rieger interior in that and have my trimmer trim the Msport dash and then put it in the Rieger along with it's new interior if that makes sense to you  :D

You'll probably find that all the dashboards are the same, but they probably made the modification at the factory when fitting them to the cabs.

sounds like a lot of work. why not have them remove the dash then just whack the wheel back on, tie wrap the instrument cluster in there fit a seat and drive it without a dash!!!

i used a dremmel to modify the tin top dash so they could use a similar thing. the cab dash will fit in your coupe with no probs. they need to cut away the bottom of the two metal brackets on each side of the dash, a trial fitting should indicate how much needs to be removed (or compare it side by side to the cab dash. i am sure they know but remind them that to finaly remove the dash once all the fixings have been removed they need to push down on each side to release the A pillar bracket as the bracket is upward facing.

Mate there is wires galor behin the dash, not to mention verious control boxes etc for the screens etc. No way i can drive that car without a dash. Might just take both cars there ad just have them swapped over and save all this fluffing around with cutting hole etc :x
