Just bought a little box on ebay to convert my touring to keyless entry.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 4640562566 Bargain :D

This is mainly to get around the fact that I can't turn the key in the drivers lock so I have to open the car from the passengers door or the tailgate.

It comes with some vague instructions and I'm pretty competent with a multimeter, but I'm just wondering where to install it. I'm guessing behing the driver's kick panel would be a good place as that's where the central locking relay is. However, it only has a short ariel so I'm wondering if it needs to be more prominent to pick up the signal from the key fob.

Any advise gratefully received
Cheers

drivers kick panel doesnt have very much room behind the speaker.
your far better off fitting it under the steering column, or above the glovebox cover.

who made it?

Thanks for the advice guys. I'll be attempting this over the weekend - providing there's a couple of hours without rain. Following Brianmoooore's hint I think I'll be looking to locate it near the glovebox.

Forgot to say that it connects to the indicators as well. It comes with a couple of diodes and suggest that these need to be connected between the box and the indicators - does that sound right??

Sounds like it's only got one driver for the indicators, so the diodes are needed to isolate the two indicator sides from each other.
Indicator wires are blue/red and blue/black, and can be found amongst the wires coming from the big plug in the back left of the glovebox.
