I'm afraid you might struggle to find a book price for free - ie. Parkers will happily charge you (£2.99 I think) for one on-line.
As regards timescale for pay out - it's a piece of string thing.....

book price when i crashed my 320 touring was only £400 for average condition,i eventually got them up to £800 and was able to take my 17" alpinas and any other bits and bobs back.have a look at the book in the newsagents.you should expect a payment if you agree on a value within a couple of weeks

Go and have a chat with a salesman down the dealers. They love to chat as have too much time on their hands. They'll use Glass's guide which the insurance company will probably use.
The piece of string thing is right. Certainly negotiate the pay out by using Autotrader/fish4 etc etc ads to argue market price over book price.
When I bought my cab, they were £3400 book, on t'internet for £5k for equivalent.
Yo'll have to offset how soon you want the cash over how much you want to get. Just keep arguing, supply evidence and ask to speak with a superior if you're not getting your way.
I once had beef with Orange. Wrote a shitty letter to the call centre manager, cc'd the MD of the company, got replys, and cheques from both!!!
Your pictures of the car will be useful too, be wary of any mods to the car though.
