futhamucka, shame mate, at least it's just surface dammage and you didn't panic and fly off the road,
you should be able to get most parts from people on here, and get her back on the road in no time

Did a similar thing a year ago in my 316i. Hit a deer at about 60. Needed a new door, headlights, grille. Its a pain in the ass but theres nothing you can do about it, they just jump out infront of you. You can get things you fix inside your grille or something thats ultrasonic and scares off animals so they wont jump out infront of you!

Also hit a deer in my old Polo Coupe at 50mph, it was the same day I got my first car insured
Didnt have time to take my foot fully off the throttle let alone hit the brake!!
The insurers would of wrote it off, but luckily there was a good front end donor in the local yard :)

Kev, sorry to hear about your accident mate. It always sucks big time when something like this happens. Hopefully you'll be able to sort everything out soon and your car will look it's best again.

About 4 months ago I hit a huge dear at 80. I had a mint 318 at the time which I sold after the accident. It was one big animal and caused a lot of demage. I'll show you some pics

I hit a pheasant at 70 and the poor little bastard made a right mess of the lower valence and the oil cooler started leaking in a big way (perhaps coincidence). It was nothing like your accident with the deer though Gary, That must have been an absolutely horrible experience.

Gutted mate, I think as you know i'm on the lookout for one of these, quite a rare car too. What a waste, I could think of much better things to hit, such as big brother contestants and tony blair.

Not suprised at the estimate at all, there is a lot of damage there.

HaHa, I remember my ex father-in-law using that as an excuse when he left a country pub after a "lock-in" at 3 in the morning! "Honestly...... hic!, the deer jumped out in front of me, I swerved to avoid it and ended up in a ditch!"
