I own a 1985 323i coupe
Just bought some bbs rs rims 2 - 9x15 rear 2 - 8x15 front
which im yet to recieve and was wondering what are the ideal tyres to put on?
Also if the car has to be altered at all to get rims this wide on.
Ive been told they will rub.

I've heard of 205's on 9 inch wheels
I'd go for either 215's or 225's for the rear and 205's or 215's for the front. The wider the tyre you put on the better for fitting the wheel, but the thinner the better for fitting on the car. I've been told that 225's will rub on the rear and 215's will be close and have the streatched euro look.
Hope you ain't got more than a 40mm drop or your gonna have trouble!

i had 215's on a 9" rim, and had no rubbing, they were stretchd but looked good. 205's are too thin for 9" and u may get rubbing with 225, depending on the offset of the wheels.

Also what tyre height 55? 50? 45?
The wheel size is : 9 x 15 offset 03 mm and 8 x 15 offset 03mm
And the front 8x15 will there be any problem turning?
thanks[/img]

I had 215/45's on 9's and 195/40's on 7.5's without any problem. I think, think, the 9's were et15.
8's on the front wont be a problem with regards turning.
Thinking of getting 9x16's again for the currrent sport but with the H&R 60/40 cupkit fitted I'm worried about clearance at the back. More than likely I'd have to get the arches rolled.
Would look great though!

IMO you will definately have problems with the 9" rim on the back. the offset is way to low. mine was et15 and it just about cleared. but i didnt have the lip rolled. if you have that done you'll have another 5mm+ to play with which Might JUST be enough.

Had to get the stretch right front and back! I actually thought with the 215's on the 9's there would be more of a stretch. Was a bit disappointed when they went on. I would have put at least one set of 205's on for a proper stretch but for the fact that I sold the car!
Really have to watch what your doing with the lips hanging out though!

the 8" rims should be fine on front or back the offset is ok, but the 9" will cause problems. the offset is too low. Best to try it and see but im very sure your gonna need to roll the lips, that will free up 5+mm which could be sufficient.antonni95 wrote:What about the 8x15 03mm offset on the front will that have problems ?Could i put 8x15 03mm offset on the back without rubbing?

it also depends on the drop and tyre size. Unfortunately theres not much you can do to increase the offset.

Toyo T1R's come in 245-45-15's would be perfect fpr this size. I want some but the poor exchange rate to dollar and you 18% VAT kills me.
My RS are presently 15x9.5
