i'm 99.9% sure it gos on the scewdriver handle and is used to ajust valves in the m20

1987 2.7l e30 m20b27 supercharging
1991 3.5l e30 m30b35 it is dead so sad
1985 3.5l e23 m30b35
think your 99.9% wrong-how would you adjust the inlet valves with that-and there holes not allen head on the eccentric adjusters.throttle stop adjustment i say-as further up the thread!or radio plugs as you said, because its not in all cars and bmw in that day didnt supply standard stereo ,they were all an option-i think.bottlecapE30 wrote:i'm 99.9% sure it gos on the scewdriver handle and is used to ajust valves in the m20

This has been discussed before, but i can't find the topic. I think it has something to do with the convertible roofs....
What car did it come from?
I'm sure it was Ian Hamilton who came up with the answer last time

This adjustment is set at the factory and never needs to be changed, so why would BMW provide a tool in the "roadside repairs" toolkit for this?gcorky wrote:throttle stop adjustment as per m20 etc?

Early type electric windows had a provision for manual overide. It'll either be for this, or, as E30Mark says, something to do with rag top roofs.
