21cm long. Deffo a BMW part. It goes in the toolkit inserted inside the spark plug spanner.

think your 99.9% wrong-how would you adjust the inlet valves with that-and there holes not allen head on the eccentric adjusters.throttle stop adjustment i say-as further up the thread!or radio plugs as you said,because its not in all cars and bmw in that day didnt supply standard stereo ,they were all an option-i think.

Some BMW locking wheel studs have a cap secured by a 3mm hex bolt. Could be for that?

Early type electric windows had a provision for manual overide. It'll either be for this, or, as E30Mark says, something to do with rag top roofs.

i dont have one anyway i carry this instead,fixes most roadside jobs :mad:it is strapped where the spanners were.
