Removing wood trim... yuk!!

Can anyone tell me how to remove the tacky wood trim that was stuck to my doorcards before I bought it? It's horrible and dosen't fit properly. It has been stuck on with some sort of glue and don't want to destroy them (the doorcards not the wood bits).

Any help much appreciated

carbeuretor claener should disolve the glue

I like your thinking but I think I'd have to use a blow tourch or something, the glue is quite solid

Hi mate. I have exactly the same interior in my cab and exactly the same problem. ive already changed the various dash parts and centre console to get rid of the walnut. im tempted by sticky stuff remover on the leather (screwfix catalogue i think) but havent got round to it. i see no reason why u cant heat up the walnut with a hairdryer to get it off and then attack it with this stuff. hope this was a help. Hairdriers rarely get warm enough to melt glue. You could use use a proper heat gun from a distance ... they can get hot enough to melt epoxy resin (when held close).
Old glue can then be removed with petrol or acetone at a push. But test a small area first to see if it affects the colour of the leather.
