I've just replaced the rear shock top mounts on the Touring & found the rubber caps on the top of the shocks to be torn.
How essential are these? Are they just dust caps or do they help with the shock location?

Cheers. Thought as much but there's still a bit if a squeak from one side which could have been caused by the missing cap. Guess I could put some ArmourAll silicon spray on to lube it. Probably won't notice when I get all the trim back on.
