I'm going to be needing to fit a new back box very soon to my 325i. I've seen one for sale that is from a 3-piece system.
I think I've got a 2-piece system on my car - the back box and twin pipes to the centre box are a single piece.
Is it possible to fit a back box from a 3-piece system to my set up, and what would be the way to do it?

It can be done but you will need to buy some link pipes.
I know that Scorpion make some stainless steel link pipes. Call Motech and ask for a price first. I think the link pipes are about £100.
