Hi all.....

I opened my sunroof on the tilt the other day and noticed a pretty bad rust patch that looks like if it gets any worse i'll have a hole! You can't see anything from the outside but when you look up from the inside it's rusting a hole for sure about 1.5" across.

Can I get it repaired/welded or would it make more sense to replace the sunroof all-together?

I've emailed a few breakers and had a look on here but have been told lachs silver is quite rare and i'd be lucky to find one.

Any ideas would be much appreciated :-)

You could get a brand new one for around 130 and have it painted ?

The rust will come back sooner or later with a repaired one i guess ?

There are good ones around on breakers if you look.
Don't worry about the colour - it's an easy panel to spray, and it's not particularly noyicveable on a car anyway. I've had a grey one on my black daily driver for six months, and no one's commented yet.
When you get the new one, or your existing one if it's not a s bad as you fear, treat the rust underneath with rust converter and paint, then place it upside down, preferably somewhere it can be warmed up, and fill it with waxoyl for a day or two.
