i am sure a few of you guys here have purchased or know someone who has purchased a replica 'm-tech 2' styling kit..... and i am sure some of you had wished you hadnt, with nothing fitting as it should, and those door pannel trims looking like they could fall off at any moment!
but hopefully some of you have found a decent supplier/manufacturer, and i would like to know who they are? as i am looking for one, and want the inastalation and fit to be as seemless as possible.....
any details and web links would be greatly appreciated
thanks....

After buying and spraying a fibreglass coppy, it ends up cheaper to buy a genuine one.

thanks guys...... i know that genuine is best, and you are both coorect, but after the last time i had the hastle of sourcing a genuine bmw bodykit, and getting it here safely and then having to buy all of the various trim clips and other bits from bmw, i was kinda hoping there was someone that made a really decent quality replica kit, where i could just phone up, have it delivered and get it painted and fitted.... (lol, i know i am probably dreaming)
also, anyone know if the kit will go strait on a touring (be it a genuine kit or not)?
i cant imagine there are the same kind of 'deeper sill' issues i had when sourcing my genuine m-tech 1 kit for my old convertible, but just thought i would ask, and the rear bumper seems to be the same on the touring as it is on the saloon?
thanks

Hi Richard, Yes i know what you mean about all the clips etc, i had the same problem, but it realy is worth it by a mile. The fibreglass ones are so ill fitting and are always cracking! You will need a 4 door kit for a touring, whihc im sorry to say it rarer, but still they come up fairly often. They will fit on the tourings without any mods, unlike the cabs

thanks for that paul, indeed, i imagine the 4 door sides are harder to source, i guess the other option is a breyton kit, but then i really am limited to replica parts.....lol
do you (or anyone else) know if the polished 4 stud e36 m3 replica wheels are still manufactured by anyone?
thanks

can i just say speaking of experience, i have a fibreglass mtech2 front bumper and there not the best. If you can get the original plastic do it, fibreglass are really last straw if you cant find originals. I have a fibreglass one on mine and it isnt perfect.

I dont know about the e36 wheels still being made or not. They again are fairly common, just get some second hand in good nick and put on your own rubber.
Oh and go for the mtech kit, cant beat it in my opinion

yeah, i dont mind getting the wheels refurbed at all and putting some fresh rubber on them, and i will start messaging the breakers for the kit (or as much of it as i can) dont mind the wait at the moment, but soon as i track down the ideal base car, i just know i will want everyrhing there and then (got no patience.....lol)
on a totally seperate note does anyone know if there is a menber on here with an alpine white convertible, its got an indigo roof and interior, full m-tech 1 kit, full origional chromework and a set of kahn rsr wheels, its my old one i sold a couple of years ago, and was wondering how its doing...lol

Don't buy the fibreglass kit mate what ever you do, if you do get it to fit ok it will soon start cracking through vibrations and if you plan to lower the car you've had it. The plastic will just flex if you catch it, fibreglass will just snap!!
Four door M-Tech kits do seem pretty hard to get, the front and back are the same its just eh side parts.
BTW i've pm'd you
