Can anyone tell me where the vacuum hose #22 leads to? It's connected to the carb actuator and the other end is just sitting there next to fuse box connected to nothing. Thanks!
BTW: It's an '87 316.

On the five series it plugged into a temp sensor above the glovebox, not sure about the three though

Yeah, the disconnected end is on the driver's side, sitting right next to the fuse box and brake booster (?). It does have very slight suction when the throttle is released, so I know it should be hooked up somewhere. I may just take out the fuse box tomorrow and see what's underneath that it may hook up to.

then back out and to the clocks iirc

Here's the hose
This is a pic of what the hose is connected to underneath. I couldn't take the filter housing off because of the dang rain.
The box with white cap seems to have all the hoses hooked up properly.

Someone has to have a Pierburg out there.
This hose is driving me nuts, I've searched this entire bay!

The white piece is just an inline filter and i think the other end just plugs into the passenger compartment so it doesn't draw in damp air

so you may be looking for just a small pipe that goes through the bulkhead.

At least that explains why there are no missing connections in the engine compartment. Thanks!
