Hi guys,
Right, here's the deal, my insurance runs out on the 25th of this month. Currently driving a 318i with a few mods here and there. But im planning to drop a 2.5 in there within the next few months hopefully. What do you think the best option would be for me to insure my car? Insure monthly till I get the engine swap done? Or is there a specific insurer you could suggest (Adrian Flux?) that would be cool insuring me for the first few months with a 318i but then wont kick up to much of a stink when i get the engine swap done, although I'd obviously expect to pay more per month once the engine is changed.
I'm currently with Endsleigh, who I'm sure would just tell me to go do one once I get the engine changed.
I'm also thinkin that over the next few months theres probably gonna be a fair bit of cash ploughed into the beast (like there has been already and she still failed her MOT!), but if something bad happened to the car the insurers only pay out the current price for the car, so I'd be looking at maybe a grand?? Dont like the thought of that, can you get insurance guys that will come out and inspect your car so that a decent price/value can be agreed.
Like I said, renewal is due soon so given what Im intending, what do guys reckon?
Cheers!
Nick

You want to be ringing HIC, Adrian Flux and Performance Direct.. You'll probably end up with Highway..
None of these would have a problem with an engine change part way through the policy from what i was bein told over the phone.. Went with Performance Direct in the end

Thanks mate!
Yeah these insurers are names I've heard about before on similar threads. But just wanted to make sure they're cool with the engine swap part way through.
Whats the catch with these guys? high excess? I've seen Adrian Flux in the back of Max Powers many a time.
Still want to find out more about gettin the car valued - once the works been done.

Excess for me (@21) is normal.. £250 or £200 iirc
No catch with them, they deal with insurance co's pretty directly and can match/beat quotes etc
Adrian Flux now own HIC tho so wont match/beat their prices
