*this is not strticly e30 related as its a volvo, but car is being used to collect/deliver e30 parts! and its a pretty generic question.... feel free to move though mods.
Engine has 235 000 miles
Uses about 1litres of Oil every 200miles (motorway, less in town)
Engine still runs smoothly (for a volvo..) has occasional rev drop, but nothing that would stall it.
Doesn't seam to smoke,
don't think it has a leek as I can see anything but you never know...
I assume this is valve steam seals/ piston rings gone.
I only need the car to do another 1000 miles at the most, will it do it? Can I do anything to help it..thicker oil? Bodge time stuff don't want to spend anymore than £20 on it! But I don't want to make it worse..
High Oil consumption

Try chucking some 'Stop Leak' (Lucas, Wynns etc.) in it. It's worth a fiver to see if it makes a difference.

I wouldn't have thought it would do the Volvo any harm. At that mileage it's all so nice & loose that it's unlikely to cause any nasty blockages.
I've used it in the past on older motors with some success & no disasters. The power steering versions also do actually work on lumpy / noisy racks.
