hi everyone its sad to say im loosing power from my e30. i don't know why and im actually conscerned. the car has many miles not really know exactly cause my odometer keeps breaking. AARG. uhm the car runs fine though. im thinking i have carbon build up, im loosing compression some how and im not really sure. i would apreciate some ideas on what it could be. i would love to do an engine rebuild but at this point its jsut not possible i dont' have neither the time or the money unfortunately. i would like maybe a somehow easy fix. or something i should look at before doing anything drastic. i would love to feel the power of the engine again as it used to be. oh and if it helps i get horrible gas mileage. even when driven really well i get maybe 18, 19 including freeway miles. so any help would be exellent. thanks

It's going to be impossible to diagnose the fault from your description... especially as you don't say what engine you have...

Have you also checked to see if the brakes are not binding? this will kill the performance & ruin your economy.

Other than that you need to check for air leaks, condition of ignition system, compression check the cylinders etc, etc

thats terrible, how does the vehicle run once up to temp ? 1st port of call would be the collant temp sender on motronic equipped car, stuck in cold start= massive fuel consumption and lack of power due to rich mixture

check this 1st dude, its the prime candidate until you tell me otherwise
