I've got a 127 page electrical manual for a 1992 318i convert here, but it's 16Mb... if you want it emailed to you then please let me know your email address.

Most, if not all, of the wires you need, are behind the glovebox.
If E30Mark's offer is no good, then post which wires you need to connect to, and we can tell you the colours, and where they are.

the wires i need to connect for the alarm are
central locking lock and unlock
and also some to start the engine by remote so the ones near the ignition barrel
i found two electric window closing devices in my garage any one know if they can be linked to any alarm? thay are made by meta security?
just want the alarm to be fitted so it locks and unlock the door and roll up the the windows and start by remote as its a auto so its more safe than leaving a manual car in gear

I joined my alarm into the central locking wiring behind the passenger front speaker, as Brian said, i think you will find all the connections you need in that area.

The unlocking wire is green/blue, and the locking wire yellow/blue, both accessible where theygo in behind the passenger speaker.
If you want to flash the indicators when arming or disarming, then the wires are blue/red and blue/black, available at the big plug and socket back left of the glovebox.
Earth for the alarm is a 6mm stud above the glovebox, where the brown wires go.
Power for the alarm can be taken from term Z (top left) of the accessories socket from fuse28, from term D (3rd from the left, bottom row) from fuse 27, or you can run a wire through the duct at the back of the glovebox, up into the fusebox, and fit a terminal to the outer side of fuse 25, and user that exclusively for the alarm.
The immobilizer connects to a white 2 pin socket with green wires above the glovebox, which should currently be fitted with a plug with a short loop of green wire.
If you want to make an effective immobiliser, then the fuel pump wire (to short out) is a green/purple wire which comes through from the fusebox, and then dissapears down the left hand cill.
Door switch is available behind the speaker.
Remote start would need a 12V applied to the green wire of the immobilizer socket, and a start signal applied to the brown yellow which is accessible at two single pin plug and sockets above the glovebox. These two are plugged together on a manual car, but on an auto the starter inhibitor circuit is added here. You need to connect to the brown/yellow that comes from the right.

I don't install alarms, but I often get to clean up the bodged up mess left by some so called "proffesional" alarm fitters.DJ_B4L wrote:thanks alot for that brian thats very helpful should be able to start on it on tuesday i let you know how it goes

Don't know anything about your particular closers, but if you examine the window switches, you will see that a brown earth wire is connected to pins 4 and 5 of each switch.
If you split these, so that all the pin 4s are connected together, and all the pin 5s are connected together, you can connect a window closer.
Can't remember which way around it is but either the 4s or the 5s should be permanently connected to earth, and the other ones connected to a changeover relay, so that they are normally connected to earth as well, but for window closing are all connected to 12V+.
This would have to be done by a timer, giving just enough time for the windows to close. There are no limit switches on E30 windows, so there's a possibility that the stall current of two or four windows would trip the cut out.
A more sophisticated system would switch the 4s or 5s (whichever it is) individually, and use a current sensing circuit to detect the motor stall current when the window is fully closed.

Engine start wire ON A MANUAL is a fairly thick black/yellow wire that goes across the top of the glovebox and has a black plug and socket in it, just to the right of the two green wires, IIRC.
On an auto, the plug and socket are disconnected from each other, and connected to wires that go to a relay behind the glovebox. This relay is only energised when the gearlever is in the start position.
Connecting this black/yellow wire to 12V+ will operate the starter motor, but you need to utilise the starter inhibit somehow, for safety reasons.

so does this mean if i connect those wires it will only start the car when gearlever is in P or N? or can it cause it to start in any and i will have to work out the safety?
in total i got 4 wires to connect for the remote start that connect to the ignition barrel
one goes to ACC
one goes to ON
one goes to POWER
one goes to Start
and the last one says goes to Motor any idea?

Only guessing, but i would think:DJ_B4L wrote:s

ACC = purple
ON = green
POWER = red
Start = black/yellow from ignition switch
Motor = black/yellow to starter motor.
These are all in the loom through the glovebox area.

The two yellow/blacks are the two I referred to that are plugged together in the manual.DJ_B4L wrote:so is there two back/yellow wires in the car that i need to connect to how can i tell which one is which? thanks

Starter (switch?) one is the one that goes to the right from the glovebox, and MOTOR is the one that goes to the left.
There aren't charging and oil pressure LEDs on an E30, there are 2.2W filament lamps for this purpose.
Charging is a blue wire, and oil pressure is a black/brown wire. Both come through from the fusebox behind the glovebox and go tabove the glovebox towards the cluster.
