Engine complete with all ancils, ECU, Gearbox to match and a tall final drive of around 3.25:1, the e36/39 style gearbox run V low gearing hence the tall back end requirement

As what Ant said and a smaller diameter brake servo too as the standard one will be too big to fit beside the engine.
I have heard peeps saying the M20 gearbox mates, thus ridding them of the need for a 3:25 LSD...

if your looking to keep the m20
6 branch exhaust manifold, exhaust, cam, bigger throttle body, 2.7, MAF conversion/standalone ecu
you can extract 220bhp (is the highest i've heard of..) albeit plenty of Ԛ£Ã”šÃ‚£

LH drive M50 conversions have different problems than RH drive cars.
The left hookers don't have problems threading the steering column through the exhaust manifolds, but they can't move the brake master cylinder like you can on a right hooker.
Best way to get a M50 engine is a written off 525i, but you will need the alloy engine mounts and exhaust manifolds from an E36.

If you have the 325es then surely you can build a 2.7 if you get can a 325i head from a scrapyard.
