Your heater hoses on the bulkhead on the right way around?

Hose from the back of the head goes to the bottom bulkhead stub.
I.E. They cross over. Often get put back wrong, which knackers the heater valve.

I will check in the daylight, if i turn the heater fully to cold i get a thud after i have turned it back a few degrees

How is it linked to the ignition?

Valve is electric and powered from ignition supply!
