you need a taller diff ratio dude, 6 speed is a non starter due to cost, what is the axle ratio now M8 ?

iirc, the dogleg option employed a tall 3.25 final drive, if you're running anything under a 3.64 the car will feel undergeared and frantic to drive, perchieved torqu would be less, bet its a missile off the lights though

hiya. i had the same prob with mine as have a 1 to 1 ratio 5th also. i found a 3.46 lsd for mine which we think came from an early 528. it does 135 now (on a private road winkeye ) but makes 5th feel more like 5th again. i've run 3.64 (125) and 4.10 (111) which are amusing short term but not really practical. (4.10 pulled away in 5th) as ant said 3.25 is the usual for the gearing but m3 diffs are expensive. if you're not worried about a lsd then just chuck an e28 525e diff in. is higher than a m3 diff so u wont feel like u need a sixth and is a cheaper more economical option :thumb:

ive got the same problem, mine runs out of steam at about 130 as well.it must be more to do with the diff gearing as im using the cossie gearbox with the 3.91 lsd.when the same engine and box was fitted to my celica using a supra lsd,it was good for 162 winkeye

Why don't you try 55 profile tyres on the rear before you go for a diff swap?
