Hi Again,
I hope Brianmoooore can help as swiftly again.
Which pod plug, blue, yellow or white, and what pin number for the Water Temp Guage please ?
Can I also run a new feed/wire from the Temp Guage sensor in the rad, directly into the correct dash pod plug ?
They wired it from the ECU at present, so no wonder it just flickers !!!
Regards,
The Gorilla.

Temp gauge sender's not in the rad - that would only give you the rad temp, not the engine temp. Gauge sender's in the thermostat elbow on a M20, and hidden under the inlet manifold on a M40. Right at the back at the top by the distributor on a M!0, IIRC.GermanGorilla wrote:Hi Again,

Temp gauge to instruments connection is A26 (bliue), brown/purple wire.

Hi,
Many thanks for that, but !!!
Has a S50B32 EVO in it, and is currently wired from the ECU to the temp guage, and it just flickers.
The Rad sensor is in the Rad but not connected.
Does the ECU require the Rad sensor wiring into it as well so that it works out the 'mean' engine and water temp, and then sends that temp to the guage ?
Any help gladly received, owe you a beer for the Fuel guage on the S14 earlier today already.
Regards,
The Gorilla.

Sensor in the rad is to control an electric fan.
Don't know if it's the same on the S50, but to get the temp gauge to work on an M50 in an E30, you change the two pin brown M50 gauge sender for a single pin M20 one. Screws into the head under the inlet manifold.

Hi Brianmoooore,
Many thanks, yet again.
That all makes sense.
I have an electric fan, but its controlled by an adjustable thermostat, that has been intersected into the top hose.
I remember obtaining a single spade brown M20 sensor, and thats what they stuck in the Rad !!!
Will relocate that to the position in the head, blank off the rad, connect the sensor back into the harness, and should be in business.
Two beers now !!
Many thanks,
The Gorilla.
