well i've just sold my e36 m3 evo ac schnitzer and i need another car sharpish i've been looking for a nice motorsport convertible for months now especially one in mauritius blue or calypso red manual and standard but as you guys know they are really rare and i just haven't found a mint standard example but there are loads of e36 m3 convertibles about in avus blue with silver leather leather and they are only £140 more on the insurance with all that extra power!!! down side of that though is that they are still depreciating where as the motorsports won't im just fustrated what do guys reckon i should do...?

M3 every time, i doubt decent e36 M3's will depreciate much more and you will have a better car

buy my honda - just kidding

why did you sell last car?

I suppose you could contact a specialist dealer like munich legends...

BMW car club and other similar sorts of places.

Really hope you find something you like but as you say it's a rare car you're after so maybe won't be easy.

I know its probably not best coming from me mate, but I love the Motorsports and I wouldn't go for anything else. As lovely as the m3's are, I think its all about the Motorsports. Mine is getting to the point now where its nearly perfect (mostly!) and I envisage holding on to it for years as I just dont get bored of driving it. And for less than 15/20k I cant really think of anything I'd want more.

Keep searching and Im sure you'll get lucky

Definitely still enjoying it mate but not without problems....rear top mounts, exhaust manifold studs this last week (head off, machined etc £500!)

All worth it though as it will all be perfect soon, maybe, old cars have a habit of springing surprises!

You know you want one.
A few pics to keep you focused on searching and waiting for what you want.

On a more serious note, hang out for what you're really after as you will never be as happy with something else.
They do turn up every now and again. Infact there was a blue one and a calypso one both on ebay last month.
It took me a long time to find mine and that was 7 yrs ago. But 7 yrs later i still get the same buzz driving it today a when first driving it home. Actually almost worth similar to what i paid 7 yrs ago. Probably more as it's in a finished state now.
I actually considered changing mine for an E36 M3 in Estoril Blue/silver grey EVO convertible, glad i never now. It was the power which attracted me, but then again i don't razz the E30 so went against it. Plus motorsport insurance is now £195 on classic. M3 probably a better car, would love one but couldn't sell the E30 to get one. A hard choice you have there.
Hold out.

Cheers,

Andy
