I keep finding water in the passenger side well of the boot.
Is this common, do people know the cause, and how can I stop it?
Cheers

Check the seals on the light clusters!!
I need to change mine. Water runs down the rear window, into the channel around the boot and down over the light cluster. Some of the water runs along the top of the cluster, and down the inside of it.
It gives me 'disco' lights sometimes too!!

It can also just be condensation on the inner wing running down and collecting as it was on mine.
There is a drain hole (see pic with golf tee) at the front of the 'well' thats normally blocked off by a rubber bung or sealer. Poke a small screwdriver through the rubber and out through the hole in the floor - have a look from under the car and you will see the hole.

If i remember righty, definitely on the Touring, there is a rubber flap in the well which comes out behind the bumper, it also releases any pressure in the boot when you close it.
It has a little rubber seal around it which was partly hanging out on my Touring. Water draining from the roof feeds into it and can end up in the boot if the seal isn't good, water flicked up from the road may also get in - I'm pretty sure this applies to non-Touring models but the 4dr is too far to walk and check at the moment.

Might be worth checking your aerial gasket as well - if it's not a touring, that is.

alrite mate! - I posted a similar question not long ago(about week and a half) here are the results. My leak was prodominantly on the drivers side though i also get water through the arial hole as it wasn't draining properly. If you dont find the answer in all this. Fill the well to the top, put fish in it and make it a feature....thats what i was gona do if it couldn't solve it!! let me know if these links doesnt work.
good luck

On the car in my sig pic i had the sampe problem.
It got really wet in there very quick, sometimes it would be full nearly to the top.
It turbed out to be comming from the arches.
If you pull all of the trim out of the well you will see where the inneraches meet the rear wing, i put a load of sealent in there and it solved the problem.

No sorry mate no pic by me i sold the car and the one i have now is sound.
The pic put up by jmc330i shows the area though, in the top right hand corner of the photo you can see where the wing joins the arch, looks like his is well sealed though.
Maybe my car had a rear quarter at some point in its life and they dont bother to seal it properly when they dlo this.
Check to see if yours is sealed if not then this could be the source!

All good tips here, but in my case it was the trunk lid not fully pushing down on the seal. The lid should sit no more than 2mm higher than the rear fenders.
