The garge recons that any car after 1987 had to have side repeaters, can anyone advise??? or suggest anything other than cutting up my wings??

Garage is correct,

Mount some lights in the wing mirrors like Mercedes etc.

Your car must be an import? or an early M3 !

I assume that's a typo, and you really mean 1st April 1986

A couple of orange LED's mounted in the mirrors has to be the easiest way forward, than you can swap the mirrors over after the MOT

I have spoken to the local stealer who has told me my car was registered on the 5/1/1987. However still no joy, because of the new computer based MOT system this was y the car failed everything else passed and the tester didnt even notice the repeaers untilt he computer flaged it.

Im gonna bite the bullet and drill the holes intot the panel, one of my mate's this end is gonna let me take a look at his with the repeaters so i can make a pattern for drilling etc.

Luckly enough i pulled a pair of smoked repeaters off at the breakers on sat looking to sell them but know im gonna need them.

They have got a slight crack in them will this be ok for the MOT??

You'll have to drill the A pillar as well to get to the rest of the loom (well it's there on the newer version, not sure about your one though).

You need to find a friendly MOT inspector.

My Cecotto never had them fitted, the MOT guy noticed but agreed that it would be stupid to cut the arches after 17 years so passed me anyway :D
