Which Track Circuit is best in the North West?
I have a weekend 'Pass' from the bread knife to go to a track day and at the moment it's looking like Friday 9th June at anglesey with Track Sport. The Friday is a national holiday in the Isle of Man because it's part of the TT race week :D but I could do the Saturday somewhere else.

So what do you recommend? What's the best / challenging for a novice like me? I've only been on the Isle of Man track run a few different ways about 8 times but want to improve and increase my experience.

Should have LSD, Cage and chip by then winkeye

Ideas and options please :D

Cheers
Ian

Anglesey is an awesome little circuit and a place where all set up issues will be highlighted, love the place :D

I'm from Anglesey originally (Rhosneigr is 3 miles away from the track and with free accomodation at my relations) so I could combine a track day on Friday with getting really p155ed with my mates over the rest of the weekend .....it's sounding good already :D

But could I learn more on another of the bigger more well known circuits? My car is set up to a budget so will I get frustrated at Anglesey if it's demanding on the cars set up?

A plus point - There is free instruction so I could get some tuition which I suppose would kill two birds with one stone as per Jonathans comments - get some training done and that will speed your lap times up....

What do you think? anyone can but in here :D

If Anglesey wasn't so bloody far away i'd test there all the time, it's perfect for getting a good balance, if you're car works there it'll pretty much work anywhere

I have had five trackdays at the Anglesey circuit, and they have all been superb. It`s not too big and not too small and is great for getting to know the handling of you car, or like me you just want to go round sideways! I drive a 325i which is stripped and prepared for track abuse, and its ideal for that circuit. Its quite a hilly circuit and there is plenty of run-off space incase you get it wrong! Highly recommended!

Full Oulton park circuit is a good one that hasn't been spoilt be the go-slow crew with chicanes every few hundred yards and hairpins at the end of every straight! There is also sufficient run-off if you mess up.

Let me know if you've been to a track in the North West area and what was good / Bad about it for an E30 325 track car.. Thanks :D

You have not got a lot of choice.. Oulton or Anglesey, thats about it I think.

Oulton is first class - one of the best. But it is expensive to hire. You will be among lots of others there as you need a lot of cars at an event there to cover costs.
Anglesey will be a lot quieter and be better for you if you need to keep stopping to experiment with set up.

I did a December trackday at Oulton, more garages than cars and plenty of room on the track. Very cheap at £100, but it got too dark cold and windy at about 3.45 so a short day. Great circuit to drive - especially having spent most weekends spectating there when I was a teenager.
