Highest mileage competition

Hi guys,
Doing this partly for selfish reasons and partly out of interest (cos I'm sad!) Everyone's told me how reliable the 6 pot engine in the 320 and 325 is, and I'm just interested to know how much mileage E30s can run up before they end up in the scrapyard. I also want to know how long I can reasonably run mine before it dies. I've seen one at 240k before, but I reckon 500k might be possible.

So put up your mileages here and I'll do a top ten list in a few weeks once a reasonable number of people have posted. Includes all model of E30 - 4cyl aswell.

186,954 in my sig 325i and still going strong, infact it's still got more pull than my 325ise on 136,860 and my tourer on 153,264 Just goes to show what a regular service can do

There is someone on the zone who has over 300,000. i seem to remember a pic being put up of the dash reading. I doubt my 325i touring is going to see 300. I am only using it once a week at the minute as i have two other cars to use and the mot is up in august. I will see it off in style with one last trackday soon and then break it so other e30 can live on.

i had a C place 318i which i sold in 1997 with 160,000 - 165,000 miles on it, still ran as strong as a 1.8 should, wonder where it is now, SIB 9023 was the plate, white 318i 2 door.

had a Land Cruiser in Saudi Arabia, it had done 465,000km when i returned it as i left the company and thet was 3 years ago!!

The shell has 497,311 miles and the m30 motor has about 250,000 and badly needs a rebuild.
