Depends on how much you want to spend on the car...

Zaino has a group of products that will get rid of it if you put the effort in..

Meguiars also have a good collection of polishes / waxes, etc. and is a bit cheaper and more readily available (from Halfords).

It's all about how much effort you put in.

Smithy - my zinnobar pink paint work has seen better days, Ive used T-cut colour enhancer on it a couple of times and it does make a big difference. However - its hard work doing it, and according to my mate who works in the Haynes museum - it does damage paintwork. This Zaino stuff seems pretty damn good, but really expensive.

Clay it!!!

Meguiars clay is the nuts, and will bring your paintwork to like-new

Id just T Cut it. I have never used anything else on faded paint, and TBH its all you need. Then use a decent wax after you have T cut it.

Job done. Oh and a tip for t cutting, do it after sun set or when its overcast or you'll be struggling like a bitch.

I'll be slated for saying this but I'm a fan of Turtle Tax Color Magic stuff for getting pink cars red again. £5.99 in Halfords.

Did this for my old car which was white in places:

OK so it won't last as long as Zaino etc, but then it's not £100....

Im a little puzzled at the "clay it" comments, i thought clay was used for removing serface contaminants (tar spots & tree sap) from the paint. i dont think it can restore oxidised paint?

the reason paint oxidises is the uv rays from the sun
so as you have said you need a product that will give uv protection and on bmw red that needs to be good protection
wax i a no no
wax is crap at durability and its uv protection is terrible
wax is very high maintenance and deterioates from the moment applied

you need something synthetic

this will give you much better protection

if you want something off the shelf then your best bet is from the meguiars range

deep crystal paint cleaner is a good off the shelf prep product

then use the deep crystal polish to top off

a good couple of products that are easy to use and give good results tho they are not the best available you will buy both for 15 quid

off of their website in bodyshop section there is a product called medallion paint cleaner
this is really good but its dearer.id suggest this if you can order it and willing to pay more its about a tenner

then apply synthetic polish/sealant.this is what will stop it going pink again so the better the product the better the proection

Scratch-x is a t-cut type product. supposedly (as told to me by a meguiars rep in a staff training session) the grains break down so its like using different grades of abrasives in one process.

Very good for small areas but i wouldnt want to do a whole car. Try the Deep crystal stage one paint cleaner. i done mine a few weeks ago with the three stages and just topped it up with the stage three carnuba wax the other day.

My iS is red and I recently tired the 3 stage Maguires, paint clean, polish, wax.

Not half as much hard work as T-cut and the pink patches came up a treat.

Bit of elbow grease required but soo good. I am really impressed.

Might not be a problem for you as this post is a little old but I have only just got around to trying it!

I bought all of the stuff, and an orbital polisher too! The only problem is i would rather go to a BBQ and get pissed at the weekend than polish the car.
