I have used the recommended pressures in the handbook for the 205/55 R15s : 2.1bar in the front and 2.3bar in the rear, but the wear pattern on the rear tyres I recently replaced indicates overinflation. The central part of the tyre tread was down to the wear marker while there was still thread at the edges.

Would it be OK to run with 2.1 bar or 2.2 bar in the rear? The only load carried is myself and the kids in the morning.

If you think you have over inflation, dont fill them up so much!

Yeah try 2.1 all round, should be fine, might find its a little less 'fun' handling, but you can play with the pressures a little to alter this
Cheers,

Thanks guys.

2.1 all round is more comfortable, but I try to do things 'by the book', so that why I used the owners handbook recommended pressures up till now.

i'm running 205/45 16's on my iS, and i use 2.2 bar in the front and 2.5 in the rears, and i find it handles a dream...

my mate who's got an Alpina C2 uses 2.3 or 2.4 in the front and 2.7 in the rear, and he's sattisfied with this...

but like Robin said, just play with the pressures...
