Hi all,
Just become the proud owner of an H-reg 325i Touring.
Have been browsing the zone recently and it seems like there is loads of good info on here - car is in good nick, but there will be some niggles to sort, so will be around here to look for advice!
Cheers,
Scott

any pics of the car mate?
Well, didn't take long to find the first "niggle". What initially looked like a small oil leak turns into Niagara falls every time the car is parked pointing uphill. Not a drop if nose down. Searching on here it would appear to be the sump gasket or rear crank seal?
Oh well, c'est la vie, knew I wasn't going to get away scot free. Am going to get it booked in the garage to take a look - and they can do the timing belt while it's in.
Otherwise, the plans for the Touring is to get it to the point where it can do exactly what it says on the tin, and take us touring! Just want to make sure it is mechanically sound, and then can look at improving.
Sorry no photos yet - but, it's Brilliant Pink with 15" BBS's. Will get some up as soon as I can take some without it looking like the Exxon Valdez!

And sounds like the sump gasket to me, the last few nuts by the bell housing are only hand tightened by the garages, mine had worked loose and the gasket had popped out.
Easy to find, just take out the 4 bolts on the access panel under the gearbox and have a look.
If it needs changing you'll need to drop the front beam to get enough clearence to clear the oil pickup, also lifting the engine from above may give you a extra inch or two....
And we'd all like that wouldn't we
