Hi guys
Issues with the fuel gauge now.
£20 brings the needle up to around halfway
havent checked how many miles i get but after it gets to the 1/4 mark - the fuel light turns on.
I havent risked 'seeing what happens' but how can i sort it?
Thanks

HI THERE..FROM WHAT LITTLE EXPERIENCE I'VE HAD OF THESE ISSUES (HAD MY 320TOURER ONLY A COUPLE OF MONTHS) IT SEEMS THERE ARE 2 SENDERS. A LARGER ONE TO OPERATE THE GAUGE AND A SMALLER ONE WHICH IS IMMEDIATELY NEXT TO THE FUEL PUMP WHICH OPERATES THE LAMP. DUNNO WHETHER THATS ANY USE ? KEV

E30 fuel pump lives under an inspection plate under the right hand side of the rear seat base. There are four small nuts on the top of the fuel gauge that hold an aluminium canister in place which contains the fuel level sender and the low fuel switch.
There is another inspection plate under the left hand side of the rear seat base, and on SOME E30s there is a second fuel level sender under this one. The two level senders are connnected in series, so the gauge reads the output from both of them added together.
I suspect you have the two sender set up, and the left hand one has jammed on full.
