I've been looking at an excellent condition 1987 320i M-Tech 1 with 80k (for £500).

It's got 2 very small cracks in the dashboard.

1stly is this a problem and secondly is £500 a good price for the car?

cracks in the dash are par for the course in e30's it seems, especially one as old as an '87. out of the 10 e30's i've had i'd say half of them had cracks! as long as it doesn't bother you then it's fine 8)

as to whether it's worth £500, well if it's in really nice condition and you're willing to pay that then why not?

if it's solid underneath, shiny on top and mechanically sound, and the 80k seems to be genuine, then yeah why not? tough car to value though, the 320i isn't a valuable model as such (though i dunno why, there's a lot to like about them) but that one sounds tidy and a nice spec. sounds worth it although they can be had for peanuts - a m8 of mine just bought a very tidy (although not perfect) metal bumper 320i on the E plate with 8 months mot and 15" BBS for 40 quid...bastard, i missed that!
