Steering Problems On Sport

Hi Guys,



I need help in solving the following problem on my 325 sport. My steering feels very stiff when turning the wheel and seems very dangerous when driving. All the front suspension seems to be in good order with good tyres etc.

I'm assuming two things that could be at fault. The power steering pump or the steering rack.

I have noticed that when the car is running the pulley on the power steering pump is juddering (wobbling). Could this be the problem??

The rack looks good, no leaks etc etc?

So guys what you reckon.... is the pump the culprit??

Any advice will be much appreciated.

Yeah my money is on the pump.

Have you checked the fluid?

Yeah the amount of fluid is fine......

Id be careful because my mate crashed his pug 306 (prob for the best ) due to a knackered power steering pump. He was taking a corner or something and it made him lose control.

Someone else on here might have another idea so hold out for a few more replies before doing anything.

I've had the same problem, though mine would gradually kick back in the more the car was driven, the power steering pump was at fault.
