Rear bumper removal

Right,

Is there a guide anywhere to the removal and refitting of a rear bumper. Its nothing special, just the standard black plastic bumper.

I'll be swapping like for like as my current one is cracked badly and i managed to source another off ebay for the grand total of.... £4

I know on the e36 forums they're sceptical of revealing such info to n00bs as to help discourage bumper thefts (something that unfortunately happens all too often) so i'll understand if I'm told where to go.... but any help would be greatly appreciated....

Doesn't justify a guide. Look underneath the bumper and unscrew the two big torx or hex headed bolts about a quarter of thw way in from each side. Then just pull straight backwards.

Thanks for your help... although one screw is rusted on, so ive just got to wait to get a bar for it

ive got a e30 restoration book which says the rear bumper bolts are the most rusted on and hardest to get off on the whole car.

when i removed my rear bumper i had to cut off the brackets

If one bolt is rusted then unscrew the two 13mm nuts that hold the bumper mount to the shell, and pull the bumper off complete with mount.
You may run into problems using a big bar, as the captive nut that the bolt screws into can break loose.
Good coat of coppergrease when you put it back!

beck you should have said, you could have come round mine earlier, we would have got it off!!
