Im going to upgrade the calipers on my little 316 to those of a 325.

I understand this will allow me to fit vented discs 8)

So, the car is a little track toy,,, so it cant swallow too much money, but im interested to see what people recommend discs and pad wise.

On my e36 im currently running brembo-max discs with pagid fast road pads which im quite happy with and at prices which wont break the bank.... but what about the e30?? I've also heard good things about Zimmermans from GSF. Im after a decent brake set up, i'll also be changing to 5.1 fluid and braided hoses where possible :D

So any pointers on what I should go for on my brake project???

Pagid pads are supposed to be the best for E30s as well.
OEM vented discs will work as well as any. Grooved/drilled stuff is only to allow gasses to escape, and most modern pads don't gas.

I've got ATE Power discs on the front with Zimmermann cross drilled discs on the rear, Pagid fast road pads all round with 5.1 fluid and a 6 line goodridge hose kit.

These are the best brakes I've used on any car period 8)

I am looking at replacing the brake set up on my 318i.
the choice seems to be either-

325 (discs all round)
M3 (for the 5 stud conversion)
Aftermarket big disc and caliper conversion.

I am sticking an M5 lump in mine so they have to be good.

I want to pur-chase a 325 back end to replace my drums and I will look at putting some better BM caliper and vented conversion on here.
CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHICH ONES WORK!!!!

I will also but a big disc conversion and 4 / 6 pot alloy calipers for the front!
Both sets of discs will be grooved, but not to worried about cross drill as I will not be tracking in it.
Green pads are great for road use and the grooves in discs keep them pretty fresh as the groove removes some of the glaze.
You can go for higher pads but you will find that they are not so good on short (cold) runs.
Again these pads like to be hot, when they get hot they will "gas" as all pads do to a certain extent.

One thing I want to look into is an ABS conversion.
I will start a new thread for this as I think this is a subject on it's own!!
