hi guys. loving the forum. good bunch of blokes!(a couple excluded) :(

i need some big help at the moment. my 320i now refuses to start, and has since been diagnosed as having bottom end failure. :(

i thought about getting a replacment 2l engine, but ive had a look at the engine swaps forum and this has given me incentive to drop a bigger lump in the engine bay. problem is that i dont know one end of a spanner from another. sooooo........

would anyone be willing to come and fit an engine for me. ive weighed up the options and will only be happy with the m5 engine from the e34 m5.(3.6 guise). so i will need someone to source this engine and all other parts to retrofit into my e30.

i maybe abill to tow it to your place if that helps. but it will have to be about 5 miles max from cheltnham.

seeing glenn do the mad engines on other cars looks great. so is anyone going to particpate for this?

i will supply tea, bicuits, beers etc. please be aware, i have just bought tax, tyres, brakes, and have a banging holiday comming up so money is tight. and i would prefer it if the work was in someway guaranteed, incase something went wrong for instance.

so anytakers? i have a perfect drive for the conversion to be done on.

i was budgeting on about £1000-£1450 tops. supply and fit.

fella ur gona have to come up on budget buy at least 2-3k. due to cost of engine and running gear ect, And im sure if you speak to karan he can give you a ruff list of all things needed.

It would be more cost efective and much easyer to do m20 2.5 or 2.7 as it would be almost a straight swap and you can upgrade running gear bit by bit..

your not expecting much 8O id agree your budget allowance of £1450 is a little under estimated for a supply and fit of an m5 engine, bearing in mind i payed £2600 in labour only to have my cossie engine fitted with me supplying all the nessesary bits.there is a lot of work involved in fitting a non standard engine in any car, good luck though winkeye

If you do a basic 2.7 pretty much all you'd need is an ETA bottom end (as you already have a b20 head). Obviosly gaskets, etc have to be factored in but you'd see plenty of change out of your budget. IIRC Andy325i had an ETA bottom end for sale a few months back - maybe he's still got it.

Try 1.4k just for the engine.. then you have the box and parts to fit it easy a 3/4k budget
