Yes, i'm a tart, i want my car to be noisy.

Does drilling the airbox offer any benefits? Just after some interesting noises, not particularly fussed if it loses me 2bhp in the process.

I think the main danger would be to get warm air from the engine bay rather than cooler air flowing into the system - thereby reducing the air mass and power.

No idea about the reality however - you'd need a remote thermometer and some testing to confirm that.

I don't think this would be much of a problem at speed as there is quite a bit of air movment through the grille. If you want the sound drill the box if you search the site you will find a thread that tests the different filters and it shows that the oem filter makes the most power. I fitted a cold air intake and only gained 4.5hp but it was a lot louder.

i think it gets pretty noisy if u take the box apart and take out the thing in there hard to describe it clips in and channels the flow i reckon take that out. i dont see wholes makin a lot more noise.

i fitted a huge pod filter for less than $50 thats like 20 pounds or sumthin ... i did it myself tho with bits i found around the place. sounds real sweet at high rpm but no noise at low rpm which suites my sleeper just fine....
