18. saw the lads in my area in black e36's and thought, yeah i want one. then read autotrader and decided to find a cheaper alternative, thus my ownership of e34's.

id rather drive my old BM than an astra or frog car (ie renault etc) any day.

i was 12/13 my cousin had just aquired a e30 sport. he lowered 60 all round, on good old 15" bbs wheels, and it was silver, lachs i think. just looked amazing, every time iwas in it, was gorgeous, i went to my secondary school prom in it! by then he had a 2.7 4 years ago! hes still got it and its still tasty, hes spent a fortune on it though.... im hoping to snap it up once insurance gets cheaper! hmm,,, tech 2,

and there was the 2x320 convertables he had before as well! they were nice, just clean and standard,,

My dads always had beemers and i promised myself one by the time i was 20 - missed it by a week!

Ive promised myself a 2.7 dolphin sport with keskins by next year so will see how it goes!

I was 19 (1993)and it was a 90 G 325iSE in Zinnober, had that a year then bought a friends 91 H 325 sport cos he couldnt pay for the finance off so I gave him enough to cover what he owed and bagged myself a bargain....think I paid about 8k for it or something and Im sure it booked nearer 12k at the time.

Strange thing is the sports reg ended ECW and 10 years later I buy my M3 with ECW on the reg!!!!

Got my first one about 2 years ago for £20 scrap price

Sold my RS1600i cause i was on my ass at the time and needed to raise some cash.
Got offered this for £50.Went and looked at it,no rust/rot just green mouldy where it had sat near an old tree for 2 years.
Agreed £20 and towed it home.
Pressure washed it,oil change,new battery and booked in for MOT.
Failed on both front flexi pipes perished,RESULT!

Owned 22 E30`s since,good/bad and would never go back to Ford!

Im 26 now and have an E46 320Ci (M54 6 pot ) Insurance is £500 fully comp on that.

Second is a dolphin sport at 20.

im 20, got quoted 1038 a year for a 525i sport, am currently insured on a 730i e38 for £900 or so. dont ask me how.

Got my first one when i was 18 after selling my Fiat Punto which broke down loads. I told my parents that i wanted an old BM but they kept moaning saying that old cars were not reliable(obviously they are experts!! Lol), It was a 316 carb(as seen in my sig pic) with 70,000 miles and full BMW service history. Think it was the best E30 iv owned actually real fun to drive.

Paid £1000 for it cost £1400 to insure.

Iv had 2 more since then and no other make of car in between!

i wos 20 wen i got my e30 318i coupe paid 480 quid for it cost me 1700 to insure after smashing my escort rs turbo lookalike (xr3 engine on webbers) head on into a van. then the bm blew up then i fixed it with a new engine and now im 21 it costs me 1000 third party fire and theft btw

got the 320 last june, she had 97,800 on the clock, the geezer said he wanted £1000 for it, i said ur haveing a laugh got him down to £800 in the end, shes now done 104,000, engine as strong as an oxe, body in vgc, interior like shes just come out of the showroom, couple of things to do on her, but i wont lose any money when i come to sell her.

My dad has had BMW's from 1990 he had a 2 yr old 316 on an F plate as a company car in 1990 since then he's had e36, e34, e39's and I doubt he will buy anything else.

My first BM was just after I turned 18 I had enough of fiesta's I'd had 5 of the buggers so bought a 1990 316i lux for £675 which I did 11k in 9 months of ownership then i sold it for £850 about a month ago.
I owned a 318i too 4dr paid £30 and broke it for parts was knackered.
now I've got a black 318is.. cost me £850 with a test it's going for a timing chain in a couple of weeks time I cant see myself owning anything but a BMW now

hi got my first beema 3 weeks ago, it came in work as a job wanted a new sump putting on it, the owner had crashed her and took out the near side valence,fog light and cracked the sump to bits and the paint work was pink(should be red but the sun does terrible things to paint work). so we put a new sump on and i beated the valence out as best i could and got a new fog light off ebay, total cost of repairs to me was £30 sump £10 fog light, 2 hours elbow grease on valence and some free oil out of stores. i then found out my boss had bought the car of the guy. my boss asked me to give it a test run and from the first moment i heard that engine roar as i give it some welly down the road i knew i had to have that car. so 2 days later i went in to work with £500 cash gave it to my boss and drove her home that night. my mate helped me polish the balls out of her to get her red again and apart from a few little bits on the paint work she is sex on wheels now. im new here so i dont know how to put pics on but she is a J reg 325i 4 door 122k near full service loads of bills and an all round clean car, im 23 £500 fully comp insurance, and most the cars iv owned have been nova's so a big step in the right direction for me.

Feb 1993, was when I got my first BMW.
Woke up one morning, my father popped his head in the door, and said I'd better go look in the workshop.
Did so, and there in the middle of the floor was a black E30 318, that had mysteriously arrived in the middle of the night.

loved it insurance was about 250 then.

im 40 now and paying 360 fully comp on my sport with full no claims.

Got mine 3 weeks ago 86 325i cabrio.Cant believe how good the bodywork is and how bad the seats and interior were.picked up a decent set of grey leather seat with red piping on friday and they have totally transformed her.Just love noise of engine with k&n on but think im going to put original airbox on ,if i can get hold of one.

got my first bmw that was an e30 when i was 17 (1995) it was a 318i in red i paid £75 from my mates dad it was road legal it cost me £350 to insure i had it for a year intill a rangerover decided to try and jump a set of lights..

ive lost count on the amount of e30s ive owend since i remember at one stage i had 12 in my garden. the neighbours really loved me lol

ive had good ones and bad ones but ill never leave the e30 alone thats a promise

got my first one in 2001 (i think!) a black facelift 2 door 320 i had in part exchange for my carlton gsi, loved the way it drove but the head was cracked and i thought i was getting too old (22) to be putting water in every time i stopped so swapped it for an xr4i 2.8, but this was crap so i flogged it sharpish and bought a black m535i, what a car! this was the one that got me started, 20-odd bmws later (mostly e28s and e30s) and i won't drive anything else

except a 911 maybe
