having just got my car back from the 'specialist' after him 'sorting' some smoke issues,i was having a closer look under the bonnet.on the cosworth engine there is 16 turbo manifold studs and bolts into the head.of the 16 ,6 are missing and 1 is not tightened up.there is also 4 large bolts holding the turbo onto the manifold of which 1 is missing and 1 is only half tight.there is also loose bolts all over the place causing oil to leak everywhere,as you can imagine im not to happy.if it wasnt such a liberty i would have went down and gave the fcuking idiot a good kicking, but hes an old guy.this is the final time for sure though after having the benefit of the doubt several times already.so if your looking for a garage in the Carnwath,Lanarkshire area do not use Ace performance.

if you paid them to do the job it should be done right old fellow or not stick it to them ok so we are all human at least give them a second chance before casterating him on the forum.i have a mechanic {and i use the term loosly}good guy close and conveinent to me but the fool could hardly change the oil on my car on the other hand have got another fellow german by decent trained on the e21 and grew with the e30s he is almost 60y/old he is across town and everytime i need say a timming belt changed he keeps the car for a week but dosent he do a ring a ding job a bit costly but my 323 never ran so sweet anyone in brisbane australia looking for top bmw mechanic peter holzman from baverian motor service at strathpine.so age should make us wiser more cautious and thorough not sloppy so no excuses for the old fellow

alright muzz,i take it youve not seen any of my posts in the past regarding my engine conversion?its not a case of a second chance, hes had several second chances already.at one stage id spoke to trading standards about seizing my car back half done,as hed taken 17 weeks to do what was originally quoted as a 2 week job.the shoddyness of the work hes done means it comes back in a worse condition than before with more bolts loose or missing.like i said before, avoid using ace performance.he talkes a good job but the practical is disappointing.

FUMING FOR YOU.
Mate, as you said if it werent an old guy some heads would be bashed together, but still this is not on. Personally my second move would be to get in contact with him, keep a cool head and point out exactly where he has gone wrong etc etc.
I would then proceed to tell him that unless he covers the costs towards having the work re-check, new bolts + nuts put in their correct place that HE has left you with no alternative but to speak with TRADING STANDARDS.
That will put the shits up him and im confident that he will try and come to some sort of understanding. If he doesnt hes a stubborn old git and then proceed to carry out the orginial option, which is a bloody good shooing!!
Best of luck

And I wouldn't finish last around the track with you lot either!
Now, must have my Horlick's and go to bed.
